Term 6

This term in Literacy we will be diving back into poetry through Robert Louis Stevenson's beautiful A Child's Garden of Verses; we will be writing our own rhyming couplets and learning how to respond  creatively to poetry. Then we will move on to reading Dick King-Smith's The Hodgeheg, before writing our own animal adventure stories.

We are excited to be visiting a local Mosque to help us deepen our understanding of the religions of people in our community.

Back in school the children will be finding out why over half the world's population now live in towns and cities, and how the world's megacities provide people with benefits as well as problems. In Science we will continue our learning about plants from Term 5 by focussing on flowers, fruits, pollination and seeds . In PE the children will switch to tennis, whilst continuing to hone our athletics skills in readiness for Sports Day. 

These are just a few of the highlights of the children's learning in Year 3 this term.
