Welcome

About us

Weald Community Primary School is situated in Weald Village adjacent to the village green. The original buildings were opened in 1892 with additions in the mid- 1970s. A new modular building consisting of two air-conditioned, state-of-the-art classrooms and cloakroom were added during the Summer of 2011.

The school has fantastic outside provision with a field and woodland to the rear, including a well-established forest school and outdoor classroom and a village green to the front where sports day and village fêtes occur. We are also privileged as a school to have a MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) on the site of the old tennis courts. This has provided additional playground space and excellent facilities for the development of sport within the school. In addition, the “Jungle Gym” play area – on the top playground – is a space for children to enjoy fitness and play on a uniquely designed playground and trail.

In September 2016, the school added a class to its structure to make 7 in total, necessitating the construction of an additional classroom and expansion of the staff, administration and reception areas of the school. Although at present back to 6 classes, this allows for expansion of the school and much-needed breakout space. During the academic year 2025/2026, the class structure is as follows: Reception (Pluto); Year 1/2 (Saturn); Year 3 (Venus); Year 4 (Jupiter); Year 5 (Mars) and Year 6 (Neptune).

Timings for the Day

The school gates open at 8:20am and close at 8:30am.

The gates then reopen at the end of the day at 3:05 with KS1 leaving at 3:10 and KS2 leaving by 3:20

This equates to a 35-hour week.

Community

We have fantastic links within the community, benefiting from an excellent village culture that is both supportive and caring. Although not a Christian school, we have well-established links to Weald, St Georges church, which provides us with facilities where we can celebrate throughout the year.  Rev Canon Mandy Carr and Rev Hannah Glover also support the school over the course of the year with assemblies.
