Term 5

This term in Literacy we will be reading The Day I Swapped my Dad for Two Goldfish and The Diary of a Killer Cat to help inspire us to write an exciting fictional (and hopefully amusing!) diary of our own. Then we will move on to reading classic poetry from Robert Louis Stevenson's beautiful A Child's Garden of Verses, before using our imagination to write our own atmospheric poems.

We are excited to be planning a trip to a local Mosque to help us deepen our understanding of the religions of people in our community.

Back in school the children will be finding out the real story behind the Vikings - what is myth, folklore and legend - and why these Norsemen would never have recognised the term 'Viking'. In Science we will be hoping for good spring weather as we learn what plants need to live and grow. In PE the children will switch their focus to summer sports as we develop our skills in cricket and athletics. 

These are just a few of the highlights of the children's learning in Year 3 this term.
